What is NEO ?

Any celestial body or any part of solar system whose orbit came near to Earth's orbit , and tends to came near Earth.

 A celestial body is said to be NEO if it closest Approach to the sun ( perihelion) is less than 1.3 AU .

NEO TYPES-

--Near Earth Asteroids (20,000 + ) 

--Near Earth comets (100 +)

The comets are first NEO to be observed by human which is 433 Eros  . 

 Significances-

- The high Interest in NEO's is due to unknown debris and also they are untouched for around 4.6 Billion years.

-  Also tell the components and how a planet forms.

- Awareness as it cause extinction of life on Earth.

- To know how can we protect us from them .

Mining In NEO's 

Asteroids mining is the exploitation of raw materials from NEO's . Asteroids have precious metals such as Gold, Silver , Platinum etc. which we can transport to Earth for the sake and to keep alive the mankind.

But it is not easy that it looks like, Spaceflights are very costly  , challenges in mining , we find many difficulties here on Earth during Mining like Gas leaks , falling debris , machine failure, land slides and many more , so the challenges and problems are going to be worse as we don't know how the asteroid will react , how the environment going to be , is it in a bad way or in a good way . in the case of NEO's or any of the  celestial body  we don't know the physical and climatic conditions , we can face it or not .

But why we have to do this the answer is we are going towards exhaustion in Industry supplies & food supply like zinc , tin , lead, Indian , Silver , gold , Copper & Many thing it can be a new matter .

1.The Asteroid Mining Corporation (UK)

- This company is the first company in entire Europe  to do this and is going to launch a satellite that will detect the liable Asteroids for future Mining .

2. Planetary Resources

- This  company was one of the first company to show interest in this field , the main focus is on NEO's for metal & water.

3. Deep Space Industries(DST)

- This company raised $3.5 million by the back of Government.

Japan , Scotland & United Arab Emirates Announced their Asteroids - Mining laws or Investment .
