Hey Guys , I am Aryan Gupta

And today we are going to learn something about unusual yet innovative idea for education around the world , we all know education is most important of all for mankind.

for education many people around the globe give their contribution and give some innovative ideas which became some major policies and a great strategy for education and learning around the world .

There is a policy which , Bangladesh follows majorly in and around June to October as there is flood all around in Bangladesh in monsoon season

THE BOAT SCHOOL

OR

FLOATING SCHOOL

the boat school or we can say the floating school is a great idea by a innovative man who wants to do something for the country his name is

Mohammed Rezwan

inspiring
the man behind this concept, image source - https://www.shidhulai.org

his family is in the business of boat transportation , and this help him to reach the school during floods over six months . he had this privilege but his friends and other children don't , so became an architect and design a boat which can become a full time classroom

the boat school , as the name suggest the school is actually on boat .and this was started with an investment of 40k Taka or we can say around  $500 .

The boat school is very innovative and simple as well as secure , firstly , innovative , As we can study more diversely outside the an building or classroom .

secondly , classroom on boats are very simple , it provide quite a good space for students and teacher with computer and library .

thirdly , it is very secure , as it is in the boat there is no worry regarding the flood and it is more for girls as in Bangladesh mainly girls are not allowed to go outside from home not because of the backwardness for girl or no study for girls this is mainly because of some bad communities on roads and on the path of the school.

but there is an another reason for it as Bangladesh ranks 4th in the list for child marriage.

HOW a day start in boat schools

On regular days of flood the boat classroom roam towards the area where children are found near the river , all the students waits eagerly for the boat to come . the boat collects the students from the home or any place from they can come and then the boat docks somewhere and study began for sometime after the class get over the students returned to their homes on that particular boat .

this all done in two sessions mainly, first the morning batch and then the evening batch .

BUT WHY BOAT SCHOOL CAME TO EXISTENCE

As Bangladesh lies in very critical region because of the Delta made by the Ganges and Brahmaputra and location where monsoon strike very harshly .

As Bangladesh is lacking behind in economy many of the crowd is not having jobs or money for school as they have less or no work and gain less money for the living and for their families , so many of the kids have to do work for some extra earning for their families.

and this all happens in normal days so how they are going to get knowledge and education in the time of floods and rains .

this is the organization behind it / image source - shidhulai swanirvar sangstha

and for this THE Man , Mohammad Rezwan began the non -profit organization Shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha

and sangstha work for education , learning , sustainable agriculture and medical fields as well as they do their extra bit by collecting funds and donations .

FEATURES ABOUT BOAT

Every boat has some special features , which are embedded inside the boat and which were very beneficial for the studies.

🌊 Each boat has computer for study purposes and other reason for that is the students doesn't lack behind as compare to other children.

🛥 Boat also contain a library for borrowing books .

🚢 Solar panels are placed on the boat for generating electricity and other components . on the boat & the reason behind it is very simple , it is so students can go their home with lantern so they can study at home as well .

child labor and natural calamities are the main reason for kids not going to school

normally there are around 70 to 75 million children who are out of school due to natural calamities or something else .[ and this is also on normal days not in a pandemic ] .

this all starts with a investment of $500  in year 2002 .

this is mainly runs by shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha in northwestern provinces of Bangladesh during the natural calamities .
